Black Futsu Squash (C. Moschata)

Good Squash vine borer resistance and heat tolerance! A rare Japanese heirloom with deeply ribbed dark green skin that matures to brown. Dense, sweet flesh improves with storage and offers rich, chestnut-like flavor. Stores well, 4-5 months.

C. Moschata or butternut type squash are more tolerant to vine borers than C. Pepo and C. Maxima type squash. Performs well in central Texas.
